Breathing Easy

Ahhh, thesis is over and I finally have time to post. My exhibition will be up through May 12th in the Layton Gallery at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. It feels great to breath easy the last few days. Had an awesome turn out and response to my exhibition. Here is a shot of my installation... Have to check it out in person!>>>>>>>

Today was Define Day at MIAD. It gives the students and professors to come together and ask the presenting seniors any question and have a more intimate conversation about each piece. It was a fun day and some great conversations were had. Really feels great to impact people and evoke emotion which is something I strive for in my art and photography. Fox 6 news was there and posted this snip it of information about the day. Check out the article

More in progress work to come!

A Closer Look at “What Once Was” by Lauren Howie Laur

MIAD student Lauren Howie Laur recently submitted her beautifully hand crafted Photo BookWhat Once Was.Its a small intimate book that serves as both a photobook and a sculptural art piece in and of itself. The book itself does not close, and instead the covers lay flat on the desk as the pages cascade out in a fan like fashion. The form factor of the book is small, yet the actual photographs themselves force you to get even closer which seems to be very fitting to this personal photo album like book. The photographs themselves are actually photographs of photographs. This will be sure to turn some heads come opening night of the show.
